Zodiac Signs: PJO Godly Parents

Being claimed by one’s own godly parent is the most monumental moment of a demigod’s life. While there are no official quizzes, there are several indicators that can aid in identifying one’s godly parenthood. These indicators happen to be the twelve zodiac signs, which are associated with their own respective God, and Goddess. Without further ado, let us dive into the twelve zodiac signs, and the entities associated with them!

Aries (March 21st – April 19th): Ares, God of War

“Love is a battlefield, and Aries warriors never back down.”

Aries are by far the most adventurous, courageous, and energetic zodiac amongst the twelve. Likewise, these bold traits complement that of Ares children, being competitive, resilient, (sometimes) impulsive, and headstrong. While most view Ares’ children as brutal – much like their father – they are the most unafraid of conquering life’s obstacles.

A notable Ares child is Clarisse La Rue, a strong, determined, and valiant ally of Camp Half-Blood. While initially disliked by Percy, Clarisse proves to be a formidable opponent, oftentimes raging into battle without hesitation. Later on, she becomes an admirable hero, known to protect, and avenge lost companions during the Battle of Manhattan. Overall, Children of Ares are passionate, valiant warriors both on, and off the battlefield of love, and war.

Taurus (April 20th – May 20th): Demeter, Goddess of the Harvest

“Taurus […] teaches […] the importance of staying rooted and finding stability in life.”

Those of Taurus are perceived as reliable, patient, and stubbornly grounded individuals, much like their mother’s nurturing – but intense – nature. As a result, Children of Demeter are frequently the ones maintaining harmony amongst the cabins at Camp Half-Blood. Additionally, they are known to unleash their persistently intense nature to punish traitors that upset the balance.

The most well-known Child of Demeter is Meg McCaffery, a loyal demigod to Apollo (also known as Lester Papadoupolous) during ‘The Trials of Apollo’. In this series, Meg uses her extensive knowledge of friendship, balance, and the environment to aid Apollo throughout his dangerous quests. Moreover, Meg is known to be particularly stubborn, and loves her family, plants, and animals. Ultimately, Children of Demeter are devoted, caring, and dependable individuals in all situations, from tending to plants, to fighting monsters with friends.

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th): Hermes, Messenger of the Gods

“Geminis are the storytellers, the ones who bring magic to words and create worlds with their imagination.”

Geminis are known for their extraordinary adaptability, curiosity, and witty intelligence, similar to their father, Hermes, who is perceived as fast, clever, and cunning. Consequently, Children of Hermes are typically the mischievous pranksters, and tricksters of Camp Half-Blood, with their intuition, and agility outsmarting even the Athena children. However, Hermes children are most known for their unique worldly perspectives.

One particularly infamous Child of Hermes includes Luke Castellan, a tragic hero-turned-villain character that used his charisma, cunningness, and ambition to outsmart his former allies. However, his differing view of the corrupt hierarchy of the Gods opened the world’s eyes to the generational unfairness (i.e. his legacy – although fuelled with hate, pain, and desperation – helped enforce justice in the system through clever, and cunning antics). On the whole, Hermes’ children are praised for their outstanding determination, and fearlessness of questioning the unquestioned.

Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd): Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth

“As a Cancer, your compassionate heart is your superpower, bringing comfort […] to those around you.”

Cancers are remarked for their protective, emotional, and intuitive personalities, reflecting that of their mother, Hestia’s, calm, gentle, and selfless character. While there are no existing Children of Hestia (due to the fact she is an eternal maiden), they are predicted to be the kindest, gentlest, and most empathetic individuals in the world, and are inferred to provide insightful wisdom to all sides of the battlefield. At Camp Half-Blood, they are most likely tasked with maintaining the peace, and harmony between conflicting cabins, and demigods, as well as hosting family dinners, and feasts. To conclude, Children of Hestia promote warmth, togetherness, and calmness.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd): Apollo, God of the Sun/Arts/Archery/Medicine

“[…] Leo […] shines like the sun, radiating warmth, passion, and a magnetic charisma.”

Leos are the most confident, generous, and creative leaders of the zodiac, just like how their father, Apollo, is worshipped for his artistic, protective, and truthful behaviour. Apollo is the God of countless different things, thus making his children some of the most versatile, and talented demigods of Camp Half-Blood. In particular, Children of Apollo are excellent at archery, healing, music, and literal sunlight radiation.

One of the most popular Apollo children is Will Solace, a warmhearted, generous leader of Camp Half-Blood, who acts as the Camp’s personal doctor during intense battles, and (literally) provides a beacon of light to people’s darkness. To summarize, Children of Apollo are actual sunshines that brighten the world of Camp Half-Blood with their talents, and selfless nature.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd): Athena, Goddess of Wisdom

“Embrace your analytical mind as a Virgo, for it allows you to approach challenges with logic, precision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Virgos are regarded for their practical, reliable, and analytical brains, similar to their mother, Athena, who is praised for her wisdom, and calm intelligence. Children of Athena are known to be brilliant strategists, planners, and mathematicians, oftentimes the ones constructing battle weaponry, and architectural structures with the Hephaestus children. They are known for their meticulous, and hardworking ethics, especially during battles.

The most honourable Child of Athena is Annabeth Chase, a beloved character of the PJO universe, who has used her intelligence, and detailed-oriented brain to protect her loved ones from harm; she has earned the acknowledgement of the Gods themselves through her heightened IQ. Ultimately, Children of Athena are highly respected for their calm wisdom, and analytical brains, which is often used to approach challenges with logic, and precision.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd): Aphrodite, Goddess of Love

“Being a Libra means embracing your unique blend of intelligence, charm, and fairness, and using it to create a world of beauty […].”

Libras are observed as social, charming, and fair individuals that hold a high appreciation for beauty, almost identical to their mother, Aphrodite. At Camp Half-Blood, Children of Aphrodite are the envy of the entire camp, loved for their beauty, passion, and diplomacy. Not only, Children of Aphrodite are rather useful companions in battle, masters of negotiation, and charm to aid others on the battlefield.

One of the many memorable Children of Aphrodite include Piper McClean, a sarcastic, social, and charming member of Camp Half-Blood, whose negotiation skills, and determination have rescued countless demigods throughout multiple life-threatening quests. Clearly, Children of Aphrodite are the perfect combination of passion, intellect, and gratitude.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 21st): Hades, God of the Underworld

“Being a Scorpio means being unafraid to delve into the depths of your own soul and face your inner demons.”

Scorpios are defined by their passion, intensity, and secrecy, resembling that of their father, Hades’, protective, loyal, and mysterious antics. Children of Hades are known to be resourceful, loyal, and protective, finding an equilibrium between the darkness, and the light. Additionally, these demigods have been known to courageously face their inner demons, and traumas, and are typically tragic heroes that are misunderstood by the world. Nonetheless, they use their extraordinary abilities to protect their loved ones in battle, clinging onto their significant others with fierce intensity.

Nico di Angelo is the most well-known Child of Hades, due to his development from a closed-off teenager, to a wiser, and more accepting leader amongst demigods. In summary, Hades’ children – while sometimes more harshly judged by other demigods – are remarkable representations of unafraid resilience, compassion, and protectiveness.

Sagittarius (November 22nd – December 21st): Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt

“A Sagittarius’s presence is like a breath of fresh air, inspiring others to break free from the mundane and embrace the extraordinary.”

Sagittariuses are admired for their adventurous, intellectual, and optimistic spirits, making them the perfect children for their mother, Artemis, and her fierce, independent, and environmental soul. While there are no canon Children of Artemis, it is inferred that they would be valiant, strategic, precise, and protective warriors, and archers on the battlefield. Moreover, like Artemis, these demigods would most likely have wise, eye-opening perspectives of the world (specifically of nature and wild animals), often encouraging independence, self-growth, and individuality.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th): Kronos, God of Time

“Capricorn, remember that your ambition and determination can take you to great heights.”

Capricorns are the most ambitious, disciplined, and responsible zodiacs, quite similar to the authoritative, and powerful presence of their father, Kronos. Although the Children of Kronos are the Gods themselves, fans theorize that demigod Children of Kronos would be disciplined, ruthless, and strong warriors in battle, unafraid of conquering the impossible with their violence. Furthermore, in accordance with Capricorn characteristics, people predict that these demigods would have much patience, and tactical approaches to situations, allowing them to easily achieve their goals.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th): Hephaestus, God of Fire/Craftsmanship

“Aquarius, the sign of innovation and forward thinking. Embrace your uniqueness and let your ideas reshape the world.”

Aquarius children are known to be inventive, independent, and intellectual people, almost identical in personality to their father, Hephaestus, and his industrious creativity. At Camp Half-Blood, Children of Hephaestus are in charge of crafting mind-blowing machines, gadgets, and weapons to aid in battles. Likewise, they are often the sole reason behind the demigods’ success in their various quests.

Undoubtedly, Leo Valdez is the most popular Hephaestus child in the entire PJO universe, and always uses his creativity to invent creative, wild, and powerful machinery to aid in battles, finding solutions, and opportunities in what others may view as imperfections. Overall, Hephaestus children are symbolizations of innovation, and utilizing one’s individuality to forge a safe place for their loved ones.

Pisces (February 19th – March 20th): Dionysus, God of Wine

“Pisces reminds us to embrace our vulnerability, for it is through our open hearts that we can truly connect with others.”

Children of Pisces are observed as artistic, empathetic, and emotional individuals, mirroring the wild, chaotic, and passionate habits of their father, Dionysus. Children of Dionysus are oftentimes chaotic entities that wreck mayhem across Camp Half-Blood, as well as people who can heal madness, encourage lighthearted carefreeness, and are tasked with tending to the strawberry fields.

A memorable Child of Dionysus includes Castor, a demigod who had tragically died while protecting Camp Half-Blood from enemies. His death symbolizes how, while Dionysus, and his children have trouble expressing their true emotions, their compassion for others is absolute.
