Movie Posters from left to right: The Black Phone, Smile, and Halloween Ends.

Do you miss spooky month and are looking to spice up your night? Well look no further because here are the top three latest horror movies that are sure to give you a scare this year.

Black Phone:

First on our list is The Black Phone where we find ourselves trapped in a basement with 13 year old Finney Shaw who was kidnapped by a mysterious serial killer only known as “The Grabber.” He soon finds out he can hear the voices of the previous murder victims through a disconnected telephone hanging on the wall, hence the name The Black Phone. This movie came out June 24th, 2022 and has an IMDB rating of 7/10 which is overwhelmingly positive.

Next up is Smile which I’m sure everyone has heard of by now, but if not let me catch you up: In this movie we follow a psychiatrist by the name of Dr. Rose Cotter who’s patient claims she is being followed/pursued by a demon that takes the form of people smiling at her. This movie came out September 30th, 2022 and has an IMDB rating of 6.9/10. Don’t be fooled by the rating however because this movie is one of the highest ranking movies this year.

Halloween Ends:

Last but certainly not least is probably the most anticipated movie on this list, that’s right, we’re talking about Halloween Ends. Keep in mind this is the 13th and final film in the franchise so be sure to check out the rest of the series. The plot goes as follows: After four years since Michael Myers was last seen Laurie Strode is now living with her granddaughter. However after a man is accused of murdering a child he was babysitting it awakens a long lost anger in Laurie which sparks her to confront her past tormentor. This movie came out October 14th, 2022 and has an IMDB rating of 5/10 which is most likely to change overtime due to how recently the movie came out.

The End:

Wow those movie ratings sure started getting low, are they really even scary? Well, that’s up for you to decide. I hope I saved you countless hours of scrolling through Netflix and trying to find something to watch. That’s all I have for you this week!
